We were talking - about the space between us all
And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth - then it's far too late when they pass away

We were talking - about the love we all could share
When we find it - to try our best to hold it there - with our love
With our love we could save the world - if they only knew

Try to realize it's all within yourself - no-one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small
And life flows on within you and without you.

We were talking - about the love that's gone so cold
And the people who gain the world and lose their soul
They don't know, they can't see - are you one of them?

When you've seen beyond yourself
Then you may find peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come when you see we're all one
And life flows on within you and without you.

anosognosia

saw will wright talk about building entertainment franchises and imaginary worlds.. he referenced the three stigmata of palmer eldritch, talked about walt disney's crazy unfinished plans for disney world, showed a funny clip of david lynch talking about experiencing a movie over a telephone.

I was then explaining to someone the difference between CanD and ChewZ.. which lead to a web search.. where I found this interesting site:

http://www.christianhubert.com/writings/index.htm

"You can never know what is enough unless you know what is more than enough." William Blake, "Proverbs of Hell."

consensual hallucination, phase space, screen memories, schismogenesis, heterotopia.. your typical hypertext synchronmaschine.

My primary interest is in the constellation of ideas and technologies, in the dense web of interlinkages between terms, in resonances between ideas from different fields. Hypertext is the writing form which best approximates this field, and when hypertext meets the internet, in the World-Wide-Web, for example, this new discursive technology promises to symbolise the embodiment of our new thought-worlds the way the clock, the book, the railway, or other prime artifacts of Western technology operated upon their own time, coevolving in feedback with the technical and social matrices that gave rise to them.

mysterium tremendum

Numinous is a Latin term coined by German theologian Rudolf Otto to describe that which is wholly other. The numinous is the mysterium tremendum et fascinans that leads in different cases to belief in deities, the supernatural, the sacred, the holy, and the transcendent.

The word was used by Otto in his book Das Heilige (1917; translated as The Idea of the Holy, 1923). Etymologically, it comes from the Latin word numen, which originally and literally meant "nodding", but was associated with meanings of "command" or "divine majesty". Otto formed the word numinous from numen in a manner analogous to the derivation of ominous from omen.

chiastic slide

J.C. Lavatar in the 18th century said it was the shadow of the face, not the face itself that was the soul’s true reflection; the ancient Egyptians held that there are nine parts to the human personality: Ren (the name), Seknem (the form in heaven), Saho (the spiritual body), Khu (the ethereal casing of the physical body), Khat (the physical body), Ka (the doppelganger of the body which empowers the shadow), Ab (the heart), Ba (the soul in the Ka), and Khaibit (the shadow of the physical body enlivened by the Ka);
...
If there exists the means by which consciousness can overcome the limitations of the inertial mass of the physical body and enter “higher dimensions” than the mind, it must also be possible to enter the “lower dimensions,” such as the second dimension of spatiality (a dimensional realm obvious to all) and become a living shadow. This was one of the beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians, and so should be the content of an objective experiment that could test such a hypothesis.
...

folie à deux

Folie à deux (literally, "a madness shared by two") is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of psychosis (particularly a paranoid or delusional belief) is transmitted from one individual to another. The same syndrome shared by more than two people may be called folie à trois, folie à quatre, folie à famille or even folie à plusieurs (madness of many).
...
Folie à deux and its more populous cousins are in many ways a psychiatric curiosity. The current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders states that a person cannot be diagnosed as being delusional if the belief in question is one "ordinarily accepted by other members of the person's culture or subculture" (see entry for delusion). It is not clear at what point a belief considered to be delusional escapes from the folie à... diagnostic category and becomes legitimate because of the number of people holding it. When a large number of people may come to believe obviously false and potentially distressing things based purely on hearsay, these beliefs are not considered to be clinical delusions by the psychiatric profession and are labelled instead as mass hysteria.
...
There have been reports that a similar phenomenon to folie à deux had been induced by the military incapacitating agent BZ in the late 60s, and most recently again by anthropologists in the South American rainforest consuming the hallucinogen ayahuasca.
...

ænergetics

was studying laffoley's metatron in more detail thanks to large scan posted by miqel... noticed the term 'anergetic angel' in the subtitle. i've encountered laffoley's terms katoenergy and metaenergy, he explains these in phenomenology of revelation - kato being the regular energy of physics and meta being energy which is 'efficacious without motion' and a generalization of the spiritual energies known in various wisdom traditions as chi, prana, elan vital, holy spirit, orgone etc. wasn't familiar with 'anergy' but reminded me of metaenergy.. a search revealed very little except this intriguing post on the noetic institute's page.

At the Quantum level, as the energy flow progresses from the non materialized state, through our material physics it is projected into a myriad of patterns or varying field effects. These super sub-atomic particle/wave event plains, create the space/matter relationships that we know as our 3D Reality. Everything that falls above a certain size or matter energy relationship(Plancks constant) is real in a 3 Dimensional sense. Everything that is below this size is non-real, or invisible. This non-real energetic phase of Intelligent Awareness is known and described as the Spirit, or Angelic State, or Exalted, Enlightened, Eternal...etc. All of these are correctly describing properties of our shared field effect as it exists in a super sub-atomic, or Anergetic* form.
...
*The concept that the Big-Bang, or the Moment of Creation(let there be Light)was the Hyper-expansion of a Super Symmetrical Singularity, and that this event resulted in an extremely high energy envelope filled with a non-materialized form of energy called Anergy was first presented by David R Varner in 1985.

knowing laffoley it's probably indeed a reference to this obscure varner guy.. want to know more. basically tripped by the fact that it's a new a-e pair (and similar in spirit to the primary dual of afflux and efflux), and I feel a kind of spontaneous affinity with the idea of a 'non-materialized' form of energy lurking below planck's constant... is it the positively charged void? the priestess, the dark mother night? the implicate order, galactic memory, morphic field, world of forms... the raumgeist...

'couver cowboys, london eyes

'The licensing of security guards, or lack thereof, has recently attracted the attention of Vancouver-based human-rights and civil-liberties groups. According to provincial statistics, there are 38 percent more licensed security guards than police officers in B.C. Terry Kennedy, communications director of the B.C. Human Rights Coalition, told the Straight that by 2008, the number of private security guards, both licensed and unlicensed, could outnumber police 5:1.
...
Hern explained that when security cameras were installed all over London in the early part of this decade, crime went down in some areas but went up in others. Where crime went down, U.K. officials claimed that the security cameras were working and used this as justification to install more. In areas where crime went up, officials argued that there were not enough security cameras, which was the rationalization to increase their number. "So you're caught either way," Hern said. "It's an ideological argument…that is not particularly interested in invoking facts unless they happen to suit the argument."'
..article..

onæirology

hmm, interesting LJ, a lucid dreamer: realityhandbook. Found by clicking on the æ in my interests list. Wanna look into this La Berge dude further.
I really enjoyed this post:

Luigi's study of Mario from inside the Nintendo

Imagine a person seated on a sofa playing Super Mario Brothers. Every move that Mario makes precisely correlates with a signal received on a Nintendo controller—because that's the way it works. Yet if Luigi were studying Mario from inside-the-game, it might be very difficult to "see" the person sitting on the couch who is playing, even with relatively advanced instrumentation.

As Luigi's tools come closer to the reality of the hardware, all of Mario's impulses would appear to originate from "the controller port". Phenomena like the delay patterns of fingers pushing would be discovered as cul-de-sacs and footnotes of "gamepad science".
...
Analogously, the brain is clearly how our presence in the physical world using the "5 senses" is manifest. Just like you-as-Mario can't be animated in the Nintendo universe without a controller, you-as-Human can't be animated on Earth without a brain. But just because the brain can be analyzed to be a function of much of our thought doesn't mean this is the only place the thought is happening. It just means the brain is the bottleneck for our spirit to manifest itself.
...

street math

The two dimensionality of duelling epistemologies, dichotomies, semantic traps, bad faiths - fuck science and religion - we should demand a rationalism of the marvellous - an end to the violence of the explanation.
- Hakim Bey, For and Against Interpretation, 1996

Gnosis, No-sys, Knows-Is

Gn0s1s and I surveyed my neighborhood at street level yesterday looking for the unseen. The imperceptably simple truth scattered amongst the dead roads and leaves. Will some trees grow around electrical wires and others be blind to them, relying on our saws, or maybe just stubborn to our linearity? What if a point of perception oscillated in and out of a movie scene, a conversation, along a sine wave or spiral? The gaze of the chaos cinematographer. Cinemath. What if we filmed a movie three times but each time along different mathematical trajectories, slicing the neighborhood into waves? This is the sort of mundus imaginalis we were faced with.

Rewind a half hour: we ask the Bosch tarot two questions about the filmspace we were in that morning. The result, commitment, The Lover. And then, after replacing them randomly and shuffling, commitment, the result, The Lover. That was our cue that we were entering a lawless place, the place of dead roads.

Catastrophe Hastens Revelation's Imperceptably Simple Truth

As the Can-D was wearing off we entered Town, and found unfinished road work, with its spray-painted sidewalk calculations. Street Math replaces ceremonial magick in the 21st century. Armed with alchemical calculus and fractal sigils.

Has the light gone out for you?
Cause the light's gone for me
It is the 21st century
It is the 21st century

Philosophy is a Menger sponge: infinite surface area, zero volume. So we outline, trace. Infer the unseen with our ultimately approximate artistic gaze.
